Ebulliometry
Exercise 1
→ Cryoscopic and ebullioscopic constants
The addition of $35.1\;g$ glucose in $100\;g$ water causes elevation of the boiling temperature of $1.0 ^ oC$.
What is the molar mass of glucose?
$w$=water et $g$= glucose
$\mu_g$ $=$ $\frac{1000\cdot n}{m_w}$ $=$ $\frac{1000\cdot m_g}{M_g\cdot m_w}$
$\Delta T$ $=$ $K_{eb}\mu_g$
so:
$M_g$ $=$ $\frac{K_{eb}\cdot 1000\cdot m_g}{m_w\Delta T}$ $=$ $\frac{1000\cdot 0.512\cdot 35.1}{1\cdot 100 }$ $\approx$ $180\frac{g}{mol}$
