Two test tubes contain different quantities of iodine.
The two test tubes are introduced in hot water in order to vaporize some iodine.
Iodine vapours are violet (ιοδυσ = violet).
We see that the partial pressure of iodine vapour in the gaseous phase is identical (same colour !).
