Determination of molar mass

Exercise 4

A liquid substance was vaporized in a boiling water bath at sea level and it was found that at $1.006\;bar$ $1.500\;g$ occupy a volume of $530\;cm ^3$ . Calculate the molar mass. (Calculations is done in the international unit system MKSA).

$p=0.0943\;\cdot 10^5 Pa$ $n$ $=$ $\frac{1.006\;\cdot 10^5\;5.30\cdot 10^{-4}}{8.314\; 373.15} $ = $ 0.0172$ $M$ $=$ $\frac{m}{n}$ = $\frac{1.500}{0.0172}$ = $ 87.2 \; \frac{g}{mol}$
